About Homoeopathy

Homoeopathy is a unique system of medicine that has been in popular use in the United Kingdom, Europe, the United States of America, South Africa, India, Israel and many other countries for over 200 years. While some of the principles of homoeopathy were in use by the ancient Greeks and Egyptians, it is the German physician Dr Samuel Hahnemann who is credited with the discovery and development of homoeopathy into a system of medicine.

Homoeopathic remedies are unique in their actions, seeking to help stimulate the body's own defence systems to enable a completely natural restoration of health. Homoeopathy is not to be confused with herbalism (medicine from herbs), or naturopathy (the discipline which brings together all natural therapies).

Homoeopathic remedies are manufactured using a method that dilutes the original substance to a point where there are no molecules of the original substance left. It undergoes potentisation (vigorous succussion) at every level to enhance it's innate healing properties. Remedies this dilute contain no drugs and create no side effects. Each of the remedies is selected to match a series of symptoms that have been recorded in Materia Medica's over 200 years of use.

Homoeopathic remedies can be used to support a number of common problems and ailments, many of which are documented. However, consultation with a trained homoeopath can also provide support for more chronic or long-term conditions. Homoeopathic remedies are so gentle that they are suitable for use during pregnancy, from birth and by those already taking orthodox medication or suffering from conditions that restrict the use of some medications.

Homoeopathic remedies are used in both hospitals and medical practices, by doctors and homoeopathic practitioners alike. In Britain the Royal Family have been confirmed homoeopathic users for over 100 years.

Homoeopathy has also been found to be helpful in animal health care and many pet owners, farmers and veterinarians are using homoeopathic remedies as support for a variety of animal conditions.
