Homoeopathy is ideal for supporting health in babies. Not only because it is gentle and risk-free, but because it works with your baby’s own natural immune system by stimulating self-healing and building vitality. Babies are dynamic little beings, growing and responding to every stimulus and they generally also respond very quickly to homoeopathic remedies. Often only a few doses are needed to bring about healing, with no need for chemical intervention. It is definitely a great place to start when any niggles arise. Generally, most babies in New Zealand are born in the month of September so there are lots of new bubba’s around. You might be in the quiet sleepy newborn stage or the more vocal unsettled teething stage or anywhere in between with gripes and winds and the odd fever thrown in for good measure. Either way as cute and adorable as babies are, they don’t come with a manual and throw everything they can at us. And as parents all we want to do is nurture and protect them and see them thrive! Managing your baby’s health should never feel overwhelming.

The baby range is available in 2 forms; the traditional purified water with 11% alcohol option and the natural vegetable glycerine option.

11% might sound like a lot of alcohol, but it is the total volume per bottle. A single dose of the remedy (2 sprays) contains less alcohol than is found in most food products. By way of explanation, a slice of brown bread can contain between 0.1g to 0.2g* of alcohol. Even a little bottles apple juice often given to young children, can contain up to 0.6g* of alcohol. But the level of alcohol in a single dose of a Naturo Pharm liquid remedy is approximately 0.03g of alcohol. Further to this, the breakdown of alcohol in the body begins as soon as it is consumed and it is completely broken down within a matter of minutes. As you can see from above, the quantity of alcohol in a single dose of a Naturo Pharm liquid homoeopathic remedy is extremely small and is eliminated by the body very quickly and as such is safe for babies, children, nursing mothers and pregnant women.

There are people for whom the use of alcohol, even in the minutest quantity, must be totally avoided or might not be allowed for religious, dietary or other personal reasons. For this purpose, we have replicated the baby range of products in an alcohol-free glycerine base. The glycerine is extracted from coconut, tastes a bit sweet even though it contains no sugar and is a slightly thicker, and has a stickier consistency compared to the traditional base. But rest assured that whichever one you choose to use, your baby is getting the same tried and tested homoeopathic combination remedy for quick gentle support and optimal natural health.

Sometimes your baby might present with something that’s not quite covered by the baby range and for this we have our very extensive classical range or remedies. There are a few remedies that every household with small children should have on hand:

Aconite 30c for sudden onset of symptoms. A sudden fever after getting chilled, an earache that comes on quickly, or a fright that leaves baby unsettled. Use in the first 24–48 hours of a cold or flu.

Arnica 30c for all the bumps, bruises and shocks that come with learning how to be a human. The typical don’t touch me, it’s too sore! Also, great following birth to ease the trauma baby’s little body just went through.

Belladonna 30c when symptoms come on suddenly, intensely and is throbbing and hot. During fever baby will have flushed cheeks, shiny eyes and be in a lot of discomfort, potentially even appear a bit delusional.

Calc Carb 30c for the chubby, sweaty bubs that tend to reach their milestones late. Often struggle with cradle cap, constipation and can be quite sensitive to milk with sour vomiting.

Chamomilla 30c for babies who are clingy, irritable, arching backwards and wants to be held the whole time but then arches backwards in your arms. For any pains and overtired crankiness.

Nux Vomica 30c is great for reflux that leaves baby feeling irritable and uncomfortable. A good option if baby struggles with constipation, nausea, bloating and also for jaundice in newborns.

Pulsatilla 30c is a beautiful remedy for clingy, weepy babies that just need mummy cuddles. They might have blocked ears, yellow green congestion in eyes and nose and often feels better for open cool air.

Silica 30c is for delicate weak chilly babies that fail to thrive. They might reject milk, struggle to pick up weight and have diarrhoea. Helps for slow healing and low immunity.
